Michael Friederang, M.S. Chemistry
At 17, Michael is one of the youngest holders of a Masters degree in America. He graduated with his B.S. in Chemical Engineering at 16 and was accepted into the Phd program at UC Riverside. Michael has assisted with the tech and underwater video analysis and instruction at swim camps over six years. He’s also assisted in the development of some of our best swim tools, like the IsoSlide Isokinetic exerciser that allows over 400 exercises we use to improve stroke and joint balance.

Michael helps track the kicking, stroke counts, best times over the years, video etc. of our campers. He also gets in the water to assist the less experienced swimmers. He’s been an assistant at camps at Cal Baptist University and even a manager of the college team. You’ll be able to access your underwater videos, prescriptions for stroke improvements and tracking online after the camp because of Michael’s IT leadership. And, of course, you can ask him questions about being the youngest and one of the best students ever :). Hint: It takes hard work doing what you love! Most of you can do far more and have more fun than you know.

Eliza Friederang: Eliza entered full-time college as a biology major on scholarship when she was 11. She’s been teaching and attending swim camps with her dad since she was 4. Now, with a double major, she’s a senior in biology and added English as a second full major (so she keeps getting paid to go to school) she turned 15 in October, so is still one of the youngest full-time college students. She can help with stroke and how to be a hero and still keep smiling for the younger kids and with academics for a student athlete for everyone.
